Use of Corteva’s Gallant in Soybean
11 September 2022, US: Gallant is a Systemic herbicide for excellent control of weeds in soybean. It gets absorbed by the plant and translocate to the site of action (growing ends, meristematic zones). It provides good control of weed grasses and is safe for crop, when used as per recommendation.
Recommended dose of Corteva’s Gallant is 1000-1250 ml per hectare.
It can be used to control weeds such as Barnyardgrass Watergrass (Echinochloa crus-galli), Crabgrass, Hairy Large (Digitaria sanguinalis), Dinebra arabica, Lovegrass (Eragrostis spp.).
Mode of Action
- Gallant causes death of target weeds by inhibiting the plant enzyme, Acetyl Coenzyme- A Carboxyloase (ACCase)
- ACCase is the first enzyme involved in the process of bio-synthesis of lipids (fatty acids)
