09 November 2022, King of Prussia, PA: UPL, a global provider of sustainable agricultural solutions, has announced John Alindajao, Purchasing Manager for Buttonwillow Warehouse Company in California’s Central Valley, as the second winner of its Allies for Agriculture initiative.

Alindajao has been honored for his work with growers to ensure they have the agricultural solutions they need, from seeds to crop protection inputs, delivered in a timely manner to grow sustainable crops. As part of this recognition, UPL will make a US$1,000 donation on behalf of John to the Community Action Partnership of Kern, Bakersfield, California.

UPL launched the Allies for Agriculture initiative to recognize the often-unsung heroes who are advancing and transforming the industry to ensure food security. A judging panel of industry leaders from partner organizations and UPL select the winner.

John Alindajao said. “Being named an Ally is definitely an honor. It’s also a reminder that success is a bridge that is never crossed alone. You go to work and often don’t realize what you and your co-workers are contributing to the ag industry and to feeding the world. This honor reminds us that we can all contribute to our industry and to our communities.”

Craig Brekkas, Head of UPL North America, said: “John exemplifies what it means to be an Ally for Agriculture. He’s playing a critical role in strengthening the global food security chain by making sure growers have the resources they need to produce the food needed to sustainably feed the world. UPL is proud to honor John for his accomplishments.”
