09 June 2025, New Delhi: Safex Chemicals has commenced operations at its new manufacturing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat. Commissioned in April 2025, the plant is part of the company’s expansion strategy and is expected to support its supply chain and product availability across agricultural markets in India.
The facility will produce liquid and powder crop protection formulations. It adds an initial production capacity of 30 MT per day for liquid formulations, which can be increased to 80 MT per day. With an existing capacity of 23,335 MT for liquid products and 51,395 MT of total production across its Indian units, this facility contributes to Safex’s ability to meet rising demand from farming regions in the western, central, and southern parts of the country.
S. K. Chaudhary, Chairman of Safex Chemicals, said, “Our new Bharuch facility supports Safex’s objective of expanding its reach in key agricultural markets. It also serves as a manufacturing base for our agritech platform, Golden Farms. The site is our seventh in India and eighth globally.”
The Bharuch unit includes automated production lines and an R&D centre that will work on developing crop protection formulations suited to Indian farming needs. The plant includes a 100KW solar power system to meet part of its energy requirements through renewable sources. It also adheres to environmental norms and implements an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) training program across its sites.
Safex currently employs over 1,550 people globally and expects to add around 300 direct jobs through this facility. The company will continue community outreach through its CSR initiatives in education, basic infrastructure, and sports.
Safex plans to monitor future opportunities for capacity expansion in response to market demand. The Bharuch facility is expected to support its operations in both domestic and international markets.
