Pyrethrum: A Natural Insecticide for Organic Farming
20 January 2025, New Delhi: Pyrethrum, derived from chrysanthemum flowers, is a natural insecticide used widely in organic farming. It works by disrupting the nervous system of insects, causing paralysis and death. Due to its rapid degradation in the environment, pyrethrum is considered safe for use in organic agriculture.
Pyrethrum is used against a variety of pests, including flies, fleas, and mosquitoes, and is also found in pet care products and home insecticides.
