Myanmar: 11 Pesticides Revoked, 12 Removed from Registration by Pesticide Board!

14 October 2024, Myanmar: The Pesticide Registration Board recently announced the revocation of 11 pesticide registrations and the removal of 12 others. This decision came during the board’s 43rd meeting on August 28.

The revoked pesticides had been registered for over six months without renewal. The list includes products such as Chao Xin, K-Nofos 72 EC, Piperonyl Butoxide, Golden Frog Mosquito Coil, Sieucheck 700 WP, Erapizole, Agro Sulf Frey 50 SC, Halocide 5 SC, RDF Granary, Pancozole 25% WDG, and VANIDA PACLO. These products will face legal action if found in circulation.

Additionally, companies requested the deletion of 12 pesticides from registration, which include Byter Spy, Trounce 40% EC, Programme, Poe Special, Jumbo Mosquito Coil, Jumbo 1 Mosquito Coil, Shwe Taung Thu Star-1 25 SL, Hmoe Weik Sar, Gold Medal, Hmoe Doctor, Myay Bayin, and Super 10 G. The distribution of these non-registered pesticides will also attract strict legal consequences.

As of the 42nd meeting, the Pesticide Registration Board had issued permits for a total of 4,237 pesticides.
