Imidacloprid: A Neonicotinoid Insecticide for Effective Pest Control

20 January 2025, New Delhi: Imidacloprid belongs to the neonicotinoid class of pesticides and is highly effective against a wide range of pests, including aphids, whiteflies, and fleas. It works by disrupting the insect’s nervous system, particularly targeting nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.

Despite its effectiveness, the widespread use of imidacloprid has raised concerns about its potential link to bee colony collapse disorder, prompting calls for more sustainable pest management practices.
