Croplife Europe’s Statement Competitiveness Compass

30 January 2025, EU: The Competitiveness Compass represents a conscious effort by the Commission to strengthen Europe’s economic resilience and global leadership. This ambitious plan brings to life the ideas inspired by the Letta and Draghi report.

As a sector, we are fully committed to contributing to Europe’s competitiveness. Our planned investments-€10 billion in digital and precision agriculture technologies and €4 billion in biopesticides by 2030—underscore our readiness to innovate and lead. However, these investments must be matched by a regulatory framework that keeps pace, ensuring these innovations can be transformed into real, impactful tools for Europe’s farmers.
