AIM for Climate COP27 Roadshow event: Advancing Agricultural Innovation for Climate-Resilient Crops
02 November 2022, US: 2Blades will host a virtual panel discussion on November 12th, 2022, 9 AM EST as part of the AIM for Climate COP27 Roadshow event series. The live discussion panel will highlight paths for delivering benefits for people and the planet, by advancing innovation for crops and sustainable food systems in the face of climate challenges. Panelists include representatives from 2Blades, The Sainsbury Laboratory, Bayer Crop Science, Kaneka Corporation, the Soybean Innovation Lab, and Pivot Bio.
The Agriculture Innovation Mission (AIM) for Climate is an initiative of the United States and the United Arab Emirates that seeks to address climate change and global hunger by promoting increased investment in support of climate-smart agriculture and innovation. AIM for Climate aims to promote its climate objectives at the 27th UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) hosted in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. COP27 is a gathering of world leaders committed to act against climate change by addressing key issues and policies.
The event will explore perspectives on the potential for innovation to achieve climate-smart agriculture, spanning gene technologies, resilient seeds, improved soil fertility, and knowledge transfer with a focus on legumes and cereals, particularly in the context of smallholder farmers in sub-Saharan Africa. A Q&A session will be open to participants. The panel will conclude with recommendations to achieve productive and sustainable food systems.
