Identification of genuine urea – Urea grains are shiny white and round in shape. It is soluble in water and the solution feels cold when touched. Urea becomes slightly wet by placing it on the palm and blowing on it by closing the fist. When kept in the open, it absorbs the moisture of the atmosphere and becomes wet and when put on a hot pan, it melts. When put on high flame, it gives out a sharp smell of ammonia.
