27 May 2023, Columbus: David Hula, Kelly Garrett, Fred Below, and Sara Wyant have been confirmed as key speakers for Meristem’s Breakthrough to Excellence Dealer Partner Exchange, August 2-4, 2023, at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, Wisconsin, it was announced here today. They will headline an event also including plot tours, extensive agronomic know-how, networking, and business ideas.

“It’s our desire to provide our dealer partners with more than high-quality, innovative products” said Mitch Eviston, Founder and CEO of Meristem in unveiling the speaker line-up. “When they visit farmers, we want them to take top-notch knowledge with them, too. The kind that will always help them get more bushels for less.” The event is exclusive to Meristem dealers and prospective dealers, Eviston explains, and each of the speakers will bring information key to carrying out elements of Meristem’s mission.

“Meristem assembled a very knowledgeable group of speakers that delivered a lot of yield-boosting strategies,” says Mitch Snyder of McKillip Seeds, in recounting his experience at last year’s event. “They illustrated those tactics with on-site plots – really brought it to life and made it memorable.”

Iowa farmer Kelly Garrett, of Xtreme Ag, is an NCGA Yield Winner and grower of 300+ bu./A. corn and 100 bu./A. soybeans. His goal is to beat the current Iowa corn yield record or 446 bu./A. David Hula, farmer and co-founder of Total Acre, is the world record holder for corn yield – posting more than 600 bushels/acre in the 2021 NCGA National Corn Yield Contest. His winning 2021 entry was from his home operation, Renwood Farms, in Charles City, VA.

“Meristem is all about raising more bushels at a lower cost for each unit of yield – more bushels for less,” says Eviston. “We are so happy to be able to get these top growers to our Breakthrough event. We all can learn from the knowledge they’ve gained in pursuing their high-yield goals.”

Fred Below, PhD, Professor of Crop Physiology at the University of Illinois and creator of “The Six Secrets of Soybean Success” and “The Seven Wonders of the Corn Yield World,” has decades of experience in soybean and corn production systems and a personal mission of improving farmer decision-making. With an encyclopedic knowledge of the environmental, genetic and management factors that impact the productivity of corn and soybeans, Dr. Below annually leads a team of graduate students in extensive plot trials across Illinois.

“Fred Below is a leading, real-world expert on how corn and beans actually grow,” says Eviston. “We are very excited to have him return to our meeting and share what he learned from last year’s crop season, especially his experience with nutrient use efficiency when biologicals are used in the right way.”

Eviston also says attendees will hear from other important players in the context of panel presentations and discussions. Jeff Sommers of Wysocki Farms will share views from his multi-crop Wisconsin operation. Biologicals expert Connor Sible, PhD from the University of Illinois Crop Physiology Dept., along with prominent ag consultant Brewer Blessit, PhD, will weigh in on the proper use and yield possibilities of biostimulants. Meristem’s own product development guru Joe Gednalske, holder of 41 patents for adjuvants, will speak to the power of adjuvants in making the most of everything applied. Veteran agribusiness coach and facilitator David Parker will moderate the event.

While the meeting is exclusive to Meristem dealer partners and their families, Eviston says it is open to those honestly interested in becoming Meristem dealers. Everyone can learn more about this event at the special registration website at www.Conference.MeristemAg.com.

“We continue to build an all-star dealer network to help more farmers grow more bushels for less,” he said. “We know there are others out there that would be a perfect fit for us, so if you want to join us on this journey to reduce waste and improve ROI in American agriculture, please connect with us through www.MeristemAg.com.”
