Bayer Moves to Erase Regional Seed Brands
16 May 2023, US: Bayer Crop Science is sweeping 10 regional seed brands into the Channel seed brand, Bayer corporate leadership announced recently.
The brands affected: Kruger Seeds, Stone Seed Group, Fontanelle Hybrids, Lewis Hybrids, Stewart Seeds, Hubner Seed, Gold Country Seed, Rea Hybrids, Specialty Hybrids, and Jung Seed Genetics, will begin to go away starting in 2024. The switch will not affect the Dekalb or Asgrow brands.
Bayer reports that farmers will not see immediate changes to the dealer networks or any name changes to regional brands for the 2024 growing season, but that changes would occur in 2025.
“It provides simplicity for everybody involved, whether it be the dealer, the customer or Bayer,” said Chris Turner, the company’s head of U.S. Crop Science.
