AlgaEnergy will be the protagonist in the event to celebrate the 7th anniversary of the SDGs
The biotechnology company is one of the only two companies invited to show that through innovation the goals set in the 2030 Agenda can be achieved.
12 September 2022, Spain: On the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the approval of the Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Global Compact Spain organizes an event focused on the importance of innovation to achieve the 2030 Agenda. During the event, the opportunities offered by the 2030 Agenda will be shown to emerging markets that are leading social and environmental transformations.
In this context, AlgaEnergy, world leader in microalgae biotechnology and its applications, has been invited to participate in the event on September 22 in Madrid. With a blended format (face-to-face and online), the conference will be opened by Reyes Maroto, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and Clara Arpa, President of the UN Global Compact Spain.
The biotech company is one of only two companies invited to present the way in which, they are being transformative agents through innovation, in their respective sectors. At the same time, AlgaEnergy will showcase its disruptive technological solutions aimed at changing the sectors of activity in which it is applied, among others, agriculture, nutraceuticals and cosmetics.
AlgaEnergy signed the United Nations Global Compact in April last year, hence joining more than 12,500 signatory entities of this initiative around the world, which seeks to strengthen private sector alliances to achieve the SDGs. The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, supported by the United Nations (UN) and encompassing the UN’s principles and values. In this way, the biotechnology company undertook to incorporate 10 universal principles related to human rights, labor, the environment and the fight against corruption in its strategy and operations, as well as to act in a way that advances society and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
