Seipasa’s Bioinsecticide Pirecris Expands Its Label With New Approved Uses In Fruit Trees, Berries And Persimmon
22 November 2024, Spain: Seipasa, a Spanish company specialising in the development, formulation and production of bioinsecticides, biofungicides, biostimulants and nutritional treatments for agriculture, has obtained an extension of the approved uses of its bioinsecticide Pirecris in Spain. The new label, approved by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, includes stone and pome fruit trees, berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry), apricot and persimmon.
The extension of the registration of Pirecris further broadens the product’s spectrum of activity against pests in high-value crops and offers growers a new biocontrol alternative in the rotation of molecules within integrated pest management strategies.
Francisco Romero, Seipasa’s sales manager in Spain, has expressed the company’s satisfaction with the extension of the registration of a key product in its portfolio of biocontrol solutions.
“The extension of the Pirecris label is the culmination of a process that has taken years of work and required the coordination and impetus of several strategic departments of the company, such as the regulatory, technical and R&D departments. It is a milestone for the entire company that further strengthens our biocontrol portfolio, which has more than 70 phytosanitary registrations in over 30 countries,” said Romero.
“The new approved uses of Pirecris on fruit trees, berries and persimmon will allow us to offer a new effective, innovative and sustainable alternative for the control of some of the most limiting pests in these crops. The catalogue of chemically synthesised active ingredients available to growers is shrinking as a result of European regulations.
“Our commitment to growers,” adds Seipasa’s sales manager in Spain, “is to develop new registered biocontrol alternatives that provide them with solutions and help them protect their crops and farms. The extension of Pirecris’ registration is undoubtedly a very important step in this direction.
