FMC Biofungicides Ataplan, Provilar, and Forenia Await EU Market Debut

27 January 2025, US: FMC Corporation has achieved a significant milestone in its efforts to bring sustainable biocontrol solutions to European farmers. The European Union has approved two of the company’s proprietary microbial strains with a “low risk” status, paving the way for faster registration timelines for new products.

These microbial strains serve as the active ingredients in some of FMC’s renowned biocontrol products, including Ataplan biofungicide, Provilar biofungicide, and Forenia biofungicide. These products have already proven their effectiveness in other regions of the world, offering natural crop protection and promoting healthier plants.

This development underscores FMC’s commitment to driving sustainability and advancing biological innovation in agriculture. By harnessing these biocontrol solutions, the company aims to provide European farmers with effective tools to protect their crops while reducing reliance on chemical inputs.

It is important to note, however, that Ataplan biofungicide, Provilar biofungicide, and Forenia biofungicide are not yet registered for sale or use in the EU. The sale or use of these products will only be permitted once the necessary registrations are obtained from the relevant regulatory authorities.
