Webinar on “Land Resource Inventory for Agricultural Development & Sujala-3 Experiences” organized

16 November 2021, New Delhi: The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation, Research Centre, Ballari, Karnataka organized a Webinar on “Land Resource Inventory for Agricultural Development & Sujala-3 Experiences” today.

Dr. Rajendra Hegade, Head, ICAR-National Bureau of Soil Survey and Land Use Planning, Regional Station, Bengaluru, Karnataka marked his presence as the Lead Speaker during the occasion. In his address, Dr. Hegade outlined the genesis of the Land Resource Inventory (LRI) based watershed. The importance of LRI in the formulation of agriculture development programmes and research was emphasized by Dr. Hegade.

Earlier, in his address, Dr. M. Madhu, Director, ICAR-IISWC, Dehradun, Uttarakhand regarded the LRI concept as a good watershed planning methodology. Dr. Madhu also urged the researchers and the Project Formulators for further improvement to overcome the constraints in the existing project model for better implementation and impact in watershed development in the future.

The Webinar organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence registered participation by 37 participants.
