Raw sugar on track for 4th consecutive annual gain
02 January 2023, New Delhi: Raw sugar futures on ICE eased on Friday in the final session of 2022 although the market was on track for a fourth consecutive annual gain, buoyed by tight supplies of the sweetener.
March raw sugar fell 0.2 per cent to 20.25 cents per lb by 1028 GMT. Raw sugar prices are on track for an annual gain of about 7.3 per cent supported by supply tightness that is expected to continue through the first quarter of 2023. March white sugar slipped 0.1 per cent to $561.40 a tonne. White sugar prices are on course for an annual gain of about 12.9 per cent.
March arabica coffee rose 0.7 per cent to $1.7120 per lb. March robusta coffee fell 0.3 per cent to $1,818 a tonne. March London cocoa rose 0.7 per cent to £2,058 a tonne. March New York cocoa rose 0.6 per cent to $2,593 a tonne.
