Poshan Mela – Campaign Annadata Devo Bhava organized @Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav

26 April 2022, New Delhi: The ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha organized a “Poshan Mela – Campaign on Annadata Devo Bhava” here today.

The Chief Guest, Professor, Dr. P.J. Mishra, Dean (Extension), Odisha University of Agriculture Technology, Odisha apprised the participants about the different food types providing nutrition.

Dr. Sabita Mishra, Director, ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar highlighted the importance of the programme in creating awareness on health and nutrition among the participants. The endeavor of ICAR-CIWA in addressing the issues and constraints of the rural women in achieving the health and nutrition of the farm families was also emphasized by Dr. Mishra.

The technology demonstration was organized on Nutrition Garden, Value Addition, Women-friendly Tools and Implements during the occasion.

The Campaign was aimed at creating awareness among the farm women beneficiaries of the 10 Nutri-Smart Villages being developed under the Project “Nutrition-Smart Villages: An Innovative Model for Strengthening Poshan Abhiyan”.

Around 250 Farm Women from 10 Villages adopted under the Nutri-Smart Village Project along with the Staff Members of ICAR-CIWA, Bhubaneswar participated in the Campaign organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
