“Policy-level Interaction Meeting” organized
11 July 2022, New Delhi: A Policy-level Interaction Meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar, Odisha here today.
The Director General emphasized on the Seed Production Plan which can be prepared after estimating the seed requirements of the State. Dr. Mohapatra urged for a greater variety and seed replacement percentage for the Pulse Crops in the State for higher crop productivity. He also directed the ICAR Institutes to evaluate the recently released varieties under Odisha-specific conditions with the help of the State Government Organizations and Krishi Vigyan Kendras. Dr. Mohapatra advised the State Government to provide indent for seed production materials to ICAR Institutes. The DG also urged all the ICAR Institutes for developing the technologies according to the farmers’ needs on a bottom-up approach.
Earlier, Dr. R.K. Panda, Director, ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneswar welcomed the dignitaries.
The Senior Officials of Government of Odisha; Dean (Extension), Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology; Directors of ICAR-Institutes; Heads of ICAR-Regional Stations and Scientists of ICAR-IIWM, Bhubaneswar discussed the various aspects of agriculture in Odisha.
