Maharashtra State Mango Growers Association Leads the Way with Agri-Tech Display in Konkan

02 June 2025, MumbaiLike the past five to six years, this year too, Alphonso mango growers in the Konkan region have faced severe losses due to the adverse effects of global warming. Against this backdrop, the Maharashtra State Mango Growers Association (MSMGA), under the leadership of its President Chandrakant Mokal, organized a comprehensive Conference and Exhibition on Agriculture, Horticulture, Irrigation, Processing, Solar Energy, and Dairy Development at Sahan, Taluka Alibag, District Raigad.

The event aimed to offer practical and innovative solutions to farmers struggling with climatic challenges. As part of the initiative, MSMGA introduced several technologies and inputs to support mango growers and other farmers in the region.

One of the key highlights of the exhibition was the display of an Electric Tractor, which captured the attention of participants and stakeholders alike. The tractor, manufactured by TI Clean Mobility Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, marked its entry into the Indian market during this event. Speaking on the occasion, Harichandra Prasad K., CEO of TI Clean Mobility, assured the farmers that this Electric Tractor—an innovation by the renowned Murugappa Group—has been specially designed to meet the diverse needs of Indian farmers and promises to be highly beneficial in their operations.

Laxmikanth Patro, DGM of TI Clean Mobility, gave a detailed digital presentation of the tractor, highlighting its features and benefits for sustainable farming.

In his presidential address, Chandrakant Mokal stated that both the Electric Tractor and Drone technologies were introduced at the event to benefit farmers in the Konkan region. He also shared that new insecticides were recommended to support crop development during the crucial flowering stage.

The conference was inaugurated by Balaji Tate, Joint Director of Agriculture, Government of Maharashtra, who praised the initiative and assured full cooperation from the state government, especially in matters related to fruit and crop insurance for farmers in the Konkan region.

Additionally, Akashy Khobragade, CEO of Salam Kisan, provided insights into drone technology and its applications in modern agriculture, further enriching the knowledge of the attending farmers.
