“Institute’s Diamond Jubilee Year Celebration and Farmers’ Fair” organized
08 January 2022, New Delhi: Mr. Kailash Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare inaugurated the “Institute’s Diamond Jubilee Year Celebration and Farmers’ Fair” organized by the ICAR-Central Sheep & Wool Research Institute, Avikanagar, Rajasthan today.
In his address, the Minister underlined the PM’s vision of doubling the farmers’ income by 2022. He also urged for adopting the new and innovative technologies developed by the Institute and the other ICAR Institutes / Universities. Mr. Choudhary outlined the roles that the Sheep and Goat Husbandry can play, especially, in the dry areas for the upliftment of socio-economic status of the farmers.
Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR appreciated the research carried out by the Institute for enhancing the production of Sheep, Goat and Rabbits.
Dr. Arun Kumar, Director, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar highlighted the Institute’s significant achievements in the recent Years, especially, the development of miracle Sheep Breed “Avishan”, Sheep Meat & Milk Products, Wool & woolen value-added products and Milk replacer, etc.
The Progressive Farmers, Women, Artisans, Sheep Rearers, Agricultural and Veterinary Students from the various parts of the State participated in the event.
