Exhibition at Triennial Conference on Millets organized
07 December 2021, New Delhi: The ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Pune, Maharashtra organized an Exhibition during the “Triennial Conference on Millets” held at Sangli, Maharashtra from 4th to 5th December, 2021.
The Conference was organized by the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Maharashtra.
In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Prashant Patil, Vice-Chancellor, MPKV, Rahuri, Maharashtra stressed on the need for the farmers and scientists to think about deteriorating farming situation to address the problems faced by the farmers. He also emphasized on minimum use of external inputs, optimum output and low risk that need to be addressed by the Indian farmers for obtaining higher returns.
Dr. Lakhan Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Pune highlighted the significance of Millets for food and nutritional security. Dr. Singh accentuated on promoting the processing and value-addition in Millets for enhancing the farmers’ income.
Mr. Madan Deshpande, General Secretary, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Pune along with more than 500 Farmers, Rural Youths, Researchers and other Stakeholders also participated in the Exhibition.
