12 July 2024, New Delhi: In its relentless effort to empower and support Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) is pleased to announce the 2nd edition of the CII FPO Excellence Awards.
These prestigious awards aim to recognize and encourage FPOs for their outstanding work in enhancing the profitability of member farmers through self-sustaining business models and fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship. The awards will also serve as inspirational role models for emerging and upcoming FPOs across the country.
The award categories are:
1. Market Linkages: Recognizing FPOs that have successfully established robust market linkages, enabling better price realization and income generation for their farmer members.
2. Women Entrepreneurship: Celebrating FPOs that have empowered women farmers and promoted their active participation in the organization’s decision-making and leadership roles.
3. Technology Deployment: Acknowledging FPOs that have effectively leveraged technology to improve farm productivity, post-harvest management, and overall operational efficiency.
4. Value Addition & Branding: Honoring FPOs that have undertaken innovative value addition initiatives and established their own brands, leading to enhanced farmer incomes.
The purpose of these awards is to encourage FPOs and create awareness about the critical parameters that significantly influence their success and help them achieve their objectives of improving farmer livelihoods.
The registrations for the 2nd CII FPO Excellence Awards are now open until 15th August 2024. There is no application fee, and the nominations can be filed through the link https://ciifpoprogram.com/cii-fpo-excellence-awards-2024/.
Organizations promoting or working with FPOs can also submit nominations on behalf of the FPOs they support, with the condition that only one entry per FPO will be accepted.
