SVG Ventures | THRIVE Announces Investment Winner at Canada III Demo Day
30 May 2024, Calgary: SVG Ventures | THRIVE, a Silicon Valley based global agrifood innovation and investment platform has announced the cohort III company selected to receive investment from it’s Pioneer Fund.
Following the conclusion of the third iteration of the THRIVE Canada Accelerator Program the fifteen cohort participants took to the stage to pitch their technology solutions at THRIVE’s Canada III Demo Day in Calgary, Alberta before a packed audience of technology leaders, innovators and investors.
Demo Day is the hallmark event of the THRIVE Accelerator Program. The
3-month program combines an intensive startup curriculum with access to a multitude of resources including investment, access to corporates and investors and tailored mentorship from industry experts from across THRIVE’s extensive global network. Through this comprehensive support system, participating companies are empowered to establish a solid foundation for global growth at an accelerated pace.
Alberta-based Verge Technologies emerged as the overall winner, securing investment from the Pioneer Fund. CEO of SVG Ventures|THRIVE, John Hartnett commented on the selection, saying, “Verge Technologies impressed us with their innovative approach to addressing key challenges in agriculture. Their dedication to developing software solutions that empower farmers aligns perfectly with our mission to drive global agrifood innovation.”

Verge began operations in 2019 with a mission to develop software that enables farmers to plan, simulate, and validate the movement of equipment in the field and execute field operations efficiently. Verge has developed software solutions on their Launch Pad Platform, Path Planner & Equipment Explorer, that help farmers manage their land and equipment to efficiently and remotely execute field operations, enabling farming to be truly autonomous.
