24 December 2021, China: The 15th International Conference on Lactoferrin Structure, Function and Applications was held on Dec. 6-10, 2021. The Feed Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) organized the Conference for the second time since 2009.
CAAS Vice President Sun Tan addressed the opening ceremony. He noted that lactoferrin plays a significant role in biomedicine, food, feed, and human and animal health and the Conference is expected to promote basic research and applications of lactoferrin, and technological progress in the human and animal health industry.
Highlighting the effects of lactoferrin on the coronavirus, the program of the Conference includes 10 sessions featuring DNA editing, recombinant expression into application in piglets, cell proliferation，differentiation and neurodevelopment, immunomodulation, and animal health. Scholars across the world shared 76 reports, including 37 special reports.
More than 150 representatives from 28 countries attended the Conference.
